Mushrooms

This mushroom was photographed on the lawn of the Cheney Cowles Museum in Spokane, Washington on June 5th, 2008 just before 2:30 in the afternoon.
Deer mushroom

These 2 mushrooms were photographed at the Fort Colville Park near Kettle Falls, Washington at about 4 in the afternoon, June 4, 2008. Both mushrooms are rather dry. One was pulled out of the ground when we found it. I've always heard these referred to as deer mushrooms and deer are supposed to eat them. I don't know if this is true or not. On an internet search I didn't seen any other mushrooms listed as deer mushrooms that looked like these.
Fairy rings

This fairy ring was at the cemetery in Colville, Washington a little after 11:00am on June 3rd, 2008.
Coprinopsis atramentaria

These were plentiful at the city park in Colville, Washington. These photos were taken on June 4th, 2008 a little after 1:00 in the afternoon.
Puffballs

These mushrooms were photographed near Evans, Washington on the Columbia River. The photo was taken a quarter after two in the afternoon on June 4th 2008.
Coprinus comatus

This mushroom was photographed right outside my yard in Apache Junction, Arizona on September 5, 2008 at 7:38 AM. Yes the sun is that bright at that time of the morning in Arizona.
Shelf mushrooms

Taken May 17, 2008 just before 6:30 in the morning, outside a motel room in Westport, Washington. They're growing on an old half barrel flower planter.
Closer view.
The next 4 shots were taken at the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park in Fort Clatsop, Oregon. They were photographed just before 3:00 in the afternoon on May 22nd 2008.

The first 2 pictures are some that seem to like to grow in large groups. They are white and hairy, kind of seem unusual. I wonder if the hairs are there to hold water.
More of the same. Quite a few were greenish tinted but I think it was algae growing on them and they were naturally white to tan.
Same place and time but different shelf mushrooms from the top
These were growing on the end of a sawn off log.
These were growing on a log floating in Lake Cresent at the Olympic National Park. Taken on May 24th, 2008 at 9:30 in the morning.
Close up of same shot. These look very similar to the ones in the photos above.
Another shelf mushroom that ended up on a log in Lake Cresent, taken shortly after the one above.
Fond on logs along the beach on the coast of the Olympic Penninsula. Taken about 7:30 at night on May 24th, 2008.
The last three photos were taken between 12:30 and 1:00 in the afternoon on May 25th, 2008 in the Olympic National Park. Love the water dripping of this small one.
Shelf mushrooms growing up a tree
Close up of shelf mushroom growing on wood right above creek.
Small mushrooms

Cute little mushrooms to identify.
Unusual mushrooms

Strange mushrooms to identify.
